In 2014, the University recognized the growing interest and use of Tableau as a core data visualization tool across the University. As such, management of Duke University’s Tableau installation was placed jointly under:

Janelle Tarpey – Associate Vice President for Administrative Systems

Janelle's office provides primary support and oversight for Tableau within the University in partnership with the Office of Information Technology (OIT). This support and oversight includes:

• Management of Duke’s Tableau Server instance
• Coordination of Tableau training and managing the Duke Tableau User’s Group
• Supporting access to core administrative data needed by Tableau users
• Security administration for Tableau – both for access to Tableau Server as well as strategy for securing access to Duke data
• Managing the vendor relationship with Tableau

Tableau Management Committee

The Tableau Management Committee meets periodically and provides oversight of all Duke Tableau functions. All Management Centers in the University are represented on the Tableau Management Committee. Committee members are:
